Hong Kong-based investment firm Chartwell Capital appointed prominent emerging market investor Mark Mobius as a non-executive, independent advisor. Mobius has almost four decades’ experience investing in emerging markets. EdenTree Investment Management appointed Will Oulton as the chair of its Responsible Investment Advisory panel. Jan Suykens, who had served on JM Finn's board since the 2011 acquisition, and Jens Van Nieuwenborgh, left the business. The changes followed the recent appointment of Louise Hall, a former board member of Investec Wealth & Investment, Christophe Maters, who previously worked at Quintet Private Bank, and Vincent Camerlynck, a non-executive director who spent most of his career in a variety of roles at BNP Paribas. Saxo Bank appointed John Carmichael as chief risk and compliance officer and as a member of the board of management and the executive team. Carmichael previously served as the head of internal audit. Saxo also made the following promotions: Kingsley Napley appointed Sital Fontenelle as new head of its family and divorce team. Fontenelle succeeded Charlotte Bradley who stepped back from team management responsibilities after 10 years to focus on client work. Harneys, the global offshore law firm, brought one of its senior figures to its London office after taking time out in academia. Colin Reigels is now a partner in the UK capital. Previously, he was the firm's managing partner for the British Virgin Islands and global head of the banking and finance practice group. C Hoare & Co appointed Abigail Malortie as its newest partner. Malortie joined C Hoare & Co in December 2020 and served in roles within the product, trusts and estates, risk, finance and treasury teams. Mishcon de Reya appointed a partner in the family team, Kate Clark, as head of family in Mishcon Private. North America Financial advisor Lance Lively joined the independent channel of Ameriprise Financial, from Edward Jones in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with nearly $130 million in client assets. Lively was joined by client service specialist Tara Beebe. The team is supported locally by Ameriprise franchise field vice president Danielle Dwyer and Ameriprise regional vice president Trish Moll. Pritzker Private Capital appointed Dwight Gibson as an operating partner. Gibson has more than 20 years’ experience leading corporations in the industrial sector. Bernstein Private Wealth Management expanded its ultra-high net worth platform. It appointed three senior executives: Amanda Bohr, director of strategic partnerships; Jeremy Lam, director of credit, and Emily Neubert, national director of UHNW services. Bohr has 13 years of cross-industry experience, including eight years tenure at Bernstein. Lam, who has over 24 years of lending experience in the UHNW space, previously held senior credit positions at Morgan Stanley, First Republic, and JP Morgan. Neubert is an 11-year Bernstein veteran with 19 years of industry experience. The firm also appointed two managing directors in its Tampa and San Diego markets: Blake Poole and Kristine Wexler, respectively. Poole has 15 years of experience, including over five years' tenure at Bernstein. Prior to Bernstein, Poole served at the Kraft Heinz Company and JP Morgan’s Private Bank. Wexler, who has more than 24 years of wealth management experience, joined the San Diego office from Bernstein in Chicago where, as an advisor, she had a special focus on female wealth creators. Prior to Bernstein she was at Bessemer Trust in New York and Chicago. JP Morgan continued to reshuffle its leadership. Daniel Pinto, president, and chief operating officer, gave up up day-to-day control of the corporate and investment bank. Instead, CEP Jamie Dimon and Pinto continued to jointly manage the company. Jennifer Piepszak, who took up Pinto’s responsibilities, moved from the consumer banking side; Troy Rohrbaugh, who has been running the markets division, also took up his responsibilities. Nikko Asset Management selected Seth Masters and Mark Stoeckle in the US to join its board of directors. Masters spent more than 25 years at AllianceBernstein in New York, serving as chief investment officer across multiple asset classes, and catering to retail, institutional and high net worth clients. He is vice chairman at New York Angels, a New York-based organization composed of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Stoeckle has served as CEO at the Baltimore, Maryland-based investment manager Adams Funds for about 10 years since February 2013. He was also chief investment officer at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, and worked in other senior roles. Fenergo appointed a chief customer officer: Andrew Brandman. Based in New York, Brandman joined from Salesforce, where he served as chief customer officer of financial services. Before that he served in C-suite roles at CIT and NYSE Euronext. He has also had management spots at UBS, Santander, and Credit Suisse. Dimensional Fund Advisors announced that its global research head, Savina Rizova, had become co-chief investment officer alongside co-CEO Gerard O’Reilly. Rizova, who joined Dimensional in 2004 – a firm headquartered in Austin, Texas – had led its research department since 2017. In the role, Rizova works with academics – from Eugene Fama and Robert Merton to Robert Novy-Marx and Marco Di Maggio – collaborating on research, co-authoring papers, and partnering with Dimensional’s broader investment team to implement thorough research in live portfolios. The firm also named Brad Steiman as president of its Canadian business. Steiman was formerly head of the wealth management group for Dimensional Fund Advisors Canada ULC. Chief talent officer Stacey Winning became global co-head of human resources alongside HR chief Aaron Marcus. Wilshire, a US-headquartered global financial services firm, appointed wealth management figure Chip Castille as product strategy head – a newly-formed role. Castille, who first joined the firm in 2000 before heading to other roles, reports to Jason Schwarz, deputy CEO and president of Wilshire. In total, Castille has worked for more than 30 years in the financial services sector. Antares Capital, an alternative asset manager with more than $67 billion in capital under management and administration, appointed Jack Snyder as managing director, head of US wealth distribution. Snyder, who oversees the launch of Antares’ private wealth strategy, is based in New York and reports to Vivek Mathew, head of asset management. Snyder previously served as MD, national sales manager for wirehouse and RIA channels and head of retail alternatives sales for First Eagle Investments. Prior to this role, he worked as MD, East regional manager, global private client group for Nuveen Investments. Ameriprise Financial, the New York-listed group, said financial advisor Roberto Vargas moved his practice from JP Morgan Securities. Vargas chose to join Centennial Financial Services, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise, within the Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group in Jupiter, Florida. Procyon Partners appointed Harry Kirkpatrick as chief revenue officer. Prior to this, Kirkpatrick served as managing director, operations, and strategy at Connectus. Before that role, he worked for six years at Facet Wealth as chief revenue officer and head of financial planning. Janus Henderson Investors appointed Christian Constandse to lead sales in Mexico. Constandse, who is based in Mexico City, reports to Ignacio De La Maza, head of intermediary business for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America. In the sector for more than 18 years, Constandse previously worked at BlackRock where he was most recently head of its institutional business in Mexico. New Republic Partners hired Ali Bayler as managing director to lead the firm’s expansion in the mid-Atlantic region. In a 25-year career, Bayler previously served as a portfolio manager with Brown Advisory, was a managing director with Spider Management, a director with global law firms, and an analyst at Wilbanks Smith & Thomas Asset Management. Rockefeller Global Family Office added Axiom Wealth Partners, a business with 26 people based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Axiom is led by managing directors and private advisors Jeffrey Towner, David Lund, Brett Howell, and Craig Sharp. The team also includes senior vice presidents and private advisors Jonathan Lund and Jeff Dykstra as well as vice presidents and private advisors Joel Barrett, Christine Steinmetz, Emie Badersnider, and Zach Gebben. The group, which joined from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, reports to Brett Thelander, Northern divisional director of Rockefeller Global Family Office. Baird added Brandon Corso as a director and financial advisor to a new office opening in Fairfax, Virginia. Corso previously worked at Edelman Financial Engines, where he managed over $585 million in assets. Canada’s Wellington-Altus created the new post of chief experience officer, to be held by Steph Condra. Condra has held several leadership positions and worked in the sector for more than two decades. She was most recently head, National Strategy Office at BMO Private Wealth, where she guided the integration of its private banking and full-service brokerage (Nesbitt Burns) businesses. Principal Financial Group made its global investments head, Kamal Bhatia, CEO of Principal Asset Management. Bhatia took over from Pat Halter, who will be retiring after 40 years with the company on April 2, 2024. During this transition period, Halter will assume the interim role of division president. At Principal since 2019, Bhatia joined as president and CEO of Principal Funds before becoming chief operating officer for the asset management business in 2020 and global head of investments in 2023. Before this, he served in senior roles including CEO and chairman of the board for OC Private Capital, a joint venture between OppenheimerFunds and the Carlyle Group, focused on private credit. UBS Wealth Management USA, part of UBS, appointed Steve Nassau as a senior advisor and Kristin Landis as a senior registered associate, respectively. They are located in UBS’s Orange County/Irvine office, which is part of the UBS Pacific Desert Market. Northern Trust Asset Management appointed Suzanne Casey as co-head of its newly-formed wealth client group. Casey, who has 30 years of sales and leadership experience, co-leads the group with Sunitha C Thomas. Both report to NTAM president Daniel Gamba. Glenmede named Bethany Bryant as regional director of its Cleveland, Ohio office. Larry Hatch, who led the Cleveland market for 11 years, continues to serve Glenmede’s clients and the firm. With more than three decades’ industry experience, Bryant joined from The Private Trust Company, an affiliate of LPL Financial, where she most recently served as president after co-founding the company. Bryant reports to Adam Douberly, director of regional markets. Partners Capital, the US outsourced chief investment office firm, promoted eight of its team to senior roles, including a partner and seven new managing directors. It made Edmondo Barletta, who has been at the business since 2013, a partner. He joined the firm in London and relocated to Paris in 2019 to lead its continental European business. Before joining Partners Capital, Barletta worked at Bain Capital Private Equity in London, and at Bain & Company in Paris. At the managing director level, four senior principals based in Europe were promoted: Joe Basrawy, Matt Libling and Louisa Saunders in the London office, as well Niccolò Frigieri in Paris. In the US, Chris Bunzel, Pamela Haddad, and Steve Kaplan, all based in the Boston office, were promoted. Bunzel, who has been at the firm since 2012, joined as a member of client CIO and public equities teams. He leads the investment programs for several private and institutional clients in North America. Haddad joined Partners Capital in 2020 as head of people for North America; Kaplan joined the business in 2015 and is head of client operations in North America. Libling, who joined in 2014, oversees multi-asset class investment portfolios for several UK private and institutional clients. He is a member of the firm’s private debt and alternatives investment committee. RBC Wealth Management in the US welcomed a team of financial advisors to its Wilmington office. The Cypress Group, formerly from Truist, includes: -- Paul S Brinkley, managing director – financial advisor; Envestnet CEO Bill Crager officially announced his resignation as the company’s head. He co-founded Envestnet with the late Jud Bergman in 1999. Securities and Exchange Commission Commissioner Mark T Uyeda took up his second term at the US regulator at the end of December, 2023. Uyeda began his first term as an SEC Commissioner on June 30, 2022, after being nominated by President Joseph Biden and confirmed by the US Senate for a term expiring in 2023. In June 2023, President Biden nominated Commissioner Uyeda for a term expiring in 2028. In addition to his service as a Commissioner, Uyeda has served on the SEC staff in several roles from 2006 to 2022, including as senior advisor to chairman Jay Clayton, senior advisor to acting chairman Michael S Piwowar, and counsel to Commissioner Paul S Atkins. He also served in various staff positions in the division of investment management and on detail from the SEC to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs as a securities counsel to the committee's minority staff. Fiduciary Trust International hired Matt McKean as a wealth director, based in its Boca Raton office. McKean most recently served as executive director at JP Morgan Private Bank in Las Olas, Florida. Earlier in his career, McKean served as director – trust and estate specialist/wealth at the restructuring group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He also served on the firm's Advisory Council to Management (ACTM) – a senior management planning board. He first joined Merrill Lynch in 2002. Hong Kong-based investment firm Chartwell Capital appointed prominent emerging market investor Mark Mobius as a non-executive, independent advisor. Mobius, who has nearly four decades of experience investing in emerging markets, is best known for his role at Franklin Templeton Investments where he managed one of the world’s first emerging markets funds. He has also contributed to developing international policies for emerging markets. Mobius served on the World Bank's Global Corporate Governance Forum as a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group and as co-chairman of its Investor Responsibility Task Force in 1999. GBST, a global provider of wealth management and technology advice solutions, appointed Jeff Hall as its head of Asia-Pacific. Hall, who reports to global CEO, Robert DeDominicis, leads business development and operations in the Australian region for the company’s wealth management and advice solutions products including Composer, WealthConnect and Advice Intelligence. Hall, who previously served as sales director for SS&C Technologies, has held C-Suite positions at Bravura Solutions and Midwinter Financial Services. His background includes senior roles in wealth management and banking at EY, Van Eyk, Macquarie Bank, and Accenture. Japan-based Nikko Asset Management selected Seth Masters and Mark Stoeckle in the US to join its board of directors. RBC Wealth Management made three senior hires in Asia: -- Eric Kang joined in Singapore as senior advisor, Southeast Asia, working with Cynthia Jacinto, market head, SEA. Kang was previously vice chairman, private banking for SEA at Credit Suisse. -- Bernard Chua joined the firm in Singapore, as senior investment counsellor, reporting to Gautam Chadda, head of investment and portfolio advisory for Singapore. Chua – also formerly from Credit Suisse – was an investment consultant focused on Greater China markets. Prior to Credit Suisse, he worked in the investment advisory space at Citibank, UOB and DBS. -- Terrence Yeung joined in Hong Kong as director, fixed income specialist, reporting to Calvin Ng, head of fixed income advisory, Hong Kong. Yeung previously worked at Credit Suisse Private Bank where he was VP, emerging markets fixed income research. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2016, Yeung worked for Standard Chartered, BNP Paribas, HSBC, and Credit Agricole. Knight Frank has added three senior figures for its Asia-Pacific business: Ben Schubert in Australia, Simon Mathews in Singapore and Alice Crowley, also in Singapore. Hong Kong’s Private Wealth Management Association appointed Vivien Khoo, formerly of Goldman Sachs, as its chief investment officer. In November, Khoo’s predecessor, Peter Stein, left to join the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA). UK-listed online trading firm CMC Markets appointed Kurt Mayell as head of CMC Markets Singapore. Mayell worked in various roles at CMC including sales, marketing, sales trading, and dealing. Before CMC, he was an investment analyst at one of Australia’s largest independent financial advisors, previously Dixon Advisory. M&G Real Estate, part of M&G, private markets business, promoted Daniel Cho as head of Korea. He reports to Jing Dong Lai, CEO and CIO, M&G Real Estate Asia. Based in Seoul, Cho drives M&G’s growth initiatives and deal-sourcing capabilities in Korea’s real estate sector. He succeeded Ryu Hyesik, who left to pursue personal projects. Cho previously served as director of acquisitions for M&G Real Estate in Korea. WRISE Wealth Management Singapore appointed Ranjiv Raman as managing director and head of discretionary solutions, and Agnes Goh as managing director and head of family advisory and institutional wealth. Both report to Kevin Teng, CEO of WRISE Wealth Management Singapore. Before joining WRISE, Roman held several key positions at Schroders Wealth Management, BSI Bank Singapore, and Aberdeen Asset Management, Singapore. Goh, who has over 27 years of experience in the banking industry, has worked at Bank of Singapore, HSBC, and UBS. Natixis Investment Managers appointed Wassim Nasrallah as head of Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Nasrallah replaced Suhail Albaz, who left the business. Nasrallah is based in Dubai and reports to Andrew Benton, executive managing director, head of Northern Europe and MEACA. With 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Nasrallah began his career at Lehman Brothers in 1994, spending 14 years there where he ran generalist sales in the Middle East, before moving on to Gottex Fund Management. In 2011 he joined Principal Asset Management to establish the company’s presence in the region in his role as MD, head of Middle East and Africa. BlackRock made Susan Chan its new APAC head. She took over from Rachel Lord, who relocated to London to take on the role of BlackRock’s head of International. It also named Andrew Landman and Hiroyuki Shimizu as deputy heads of Asia-Pacific. Chan is based in Hong Kong. Chan has worked in financial services for more than 30 years, and at BlackRock for more than 10 years. Before this, Chan served as deputy head of Asia-Pacific, head of Greater China, and head of trading, liquidity and lending for APAC. She joined the firm in Hong Kong in 2013. Julius Baer appointed former Credit Suisse and Citi Private Bank senior figure Mun Joo Ng as team head for Southeast Asia – a newly-created role. Ng, who is based in Singapore, reports to Kevin Tay, group head for Southeast Asia. Working at Credit Suisse as a senior team leader for eight years – running the Singapore desk – Ng was previously at Citigroup for a decade. PGIM appointed Hirotaka Kato in the newly-created role of head of portfolio solutions for Japan, based in Tokyo. Kato, who has over 20 years’ financial services experience, was most recently co-head of investment banking and a senior executive officer at Citi Japan. PineBridge Investments named Nicolas Kopitsis as head of intermediary distribution for Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Kopitsis is based in Singapore. He has a particular focus on the UK, Switzerland, and certain Asian markets. He joined the firm in 2021 as Asia wealth management head. Offshore law firm Harneys named Calvin Chow as a partner for its Hong Kong litigation, insolvency and restructuring group. Before joining Harneys, Chow was a partner at a Hong Kong law firm. East West Private Wealth (EWPW), multi-family office launched by Milltrust International, appointed former senior bank figure Edward Higgins as managing director, based in Singapore. Higgins, who has an 18-year career in private banking, has worked at Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, and Julius Baer. Carey Olsen promoted six lawyers to the status of counsel and senior associate, and they are located in the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Jersey and Singapore. Those promoted to counsel: -- Jersey: Arindam Madhuryya (corporate); Those promoted to senior associate: -- Cayman Islands: Jason Mbakwe (dispute resolution and litigation); Standard Chartered appointed Sidney Wang as managing director, marketing head – Greater China, for its private banking business. Wang, who joined the lender in Hong Kong, reports to Peter Tung, regional head, private banking, Greater China and North Asia. With more than 20 years’ banking experience spanning commercial banking, credit and risk management, and strategy, Wang has 15 years’ experience in private banking and wealth management. Wang joined from HSBC. Harneys, the global offshore law firm, made a round of promotions to partner and counsel level in its Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Hong Kong, and Shanghai offices. Two new partners have been appointed: Carolynn Vivian in the Cayman Islands and Jessie Xu in Shanghai. Natixis Investment Managers appointed one of its senior figures, Nathalie Bricker, as deputy chief executive.
UK-based wealth manager Brooks Macdonald appointed Mark O’Connor to the newly-created role of managing director for the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. As a result of a streamlining effort, the role of international CEO no longer existed, so Richard Hughes left to join fund administrator JTC Group as group head of its commercial office, after more than 10 years at Brooks Macdonald.
Quilter added three new investment directors to its team. Ryan Medlock and Filipo Madonia joined from Royal London, and Nick Davison from Liontrust. Most recently, Medlock was a senior investment development manager at Royal London.
UK wealth manager Evelyn Partners appointed Matt Dickens as its new financial planning director. Dickens spent more than a decade at The Ingenious Group, most recently as senior business development director.
It also appointed Andrew Middleton as group chief marketing and commercial officer, who reports to Paul Geddes, group chief executive officer. Middleton joined from British Gas where he was commercial, sales and marketing director and latterly managing director of British Gas Zero.

Bader has worked in the banking sector for more than three decades, working for BCV, Cramer & Cie and, most recently, Credit Suisse. Christen was at Credit Suisse for more than 20 years and worked at LGT Bank (Switzerland) and BPS.
Schellenberg Wittmer named Charles Goumaz as a partner in its dispute resolution and white-collar crime practices, Roland Wild as partner in its taxation practice, and Sebastian Coulon Bauer as counsel in its international arbitration and dispute resolution practices.

The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority named a former European Central Bank senior figure, Stefan Walter, as new chief executive. He replaced interim CEO Birgit Rutishauser. The previous full-time CEO, Urban Angehrn, left the job last year. Walter also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Walter, a German national, had been ECB director general since 2014.
Private equity firm Growthdeck appointed investment industry professionals Anna Daniels and Gaelle Lebray as relationship directors. Daniels was previously CEO of Involved Investors, an SME investment network. Lebray is an executive director with nearly 20 years of experience in investment banking with the likes of JP Morgan & Co and Morgan Stanley.
Global investment manager Fidelity International appointed Christine Baalham and Tom Record as co-portfolio managers in its global equity team. Their appointments followed Jeremy Podger’s recent decision to step down as portfolio manager from the end of March 2024.

Union Bancaire Privée named former JP Morgan senior figure Mohamed Shoukry as the new CEO of UBP Middle East, its Dubai-based subsidiary. Shoukry has more than two decades’ experience in the industry, working in firms in the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to joining UBP, he served in senior roles at Citigroup, Mashreq Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and, most recently, at JP Morgan as head of multinational coverage for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. The appointment came after a move by Mohamed Hamed Abdellatif, who joined the Bank in 2012 and has served as the CEO of UBP Middle East since 2015. Since the start of this year, he was co-head for the Middle East and Africa region, alongside Walid Shash, who has managed UBP’s MEA strategy since 2005.

Indefi, a strategy advisor for asset managers, appointed former a CEO in France for HSBC’s private bank as a senior advisor. Daniel Roy, based in Paris, was formerly CEO of La Banque Postale (LBP) Asset Management, CEO of HSBC Private Bank France, and CEO of Natexis Asset Management.
M&G Investments named Martin Herbon as head of global banks at M&G Investments and promoted Otto Donner to head of the Nordics. Herbon, based in London, reports to Neal Brooks, global head of product and distribution. Hebron joined from Natixis Investment Managers, where he was most recently head of global financial institutions. Donner is based in Stockholm and reports to Robert Heaney, head of institutional distribution, EMEA.
Vontobel appointed Andrew Jackson as head of its fixed income boutique. He took over from Simon Lue-Fong, who retired after a 30-year investment career. Jackson has more than 20 years of experience as a fixed income investor.
London law firm Seddons appointed David Thompson as a partner in the family team. Thompson joined from JMW Solicitors, where he was a partner for three years.
London-based Guinness Global Investors appointed Will James in the newly-created role of co-portfolio manager alongside Nick Edwards for the Guinness European Equity Income strategy, based in London. James, who has 20 years of experience in the sector, joined from Premier Miton Investors.
Aviva Investors appointed Kunal Kothari in its UK equity team as co-portfolio manager, UK Equity Income. Based in London, he reports to Trevor Green, head of UK equities.
Private client and tax partner Fernando Gandioli moved to international law firm Withers' Milan office. Previously, he was the regional division leader of the firm's private client and tax team in Asia.
Close Brothers Asset Management appointed Annabel Barrow as senior investment manager to bolster its bespoke offering, based in the company’s London office. Barrow spent the past 15 years of her career at Investec Wealth & Investment.
Natixis Investment Managers appointed a new head of Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia: Wassim Nasrallah. Nasrallah replaced Suhail Albaz, who left the business. Nasrallah is based in Dubai and reports to Andrew Benton, executive managing director, head of Northern Europe & MEACA.
The Isle of Man Government appointed its first business representative in South Africa. Based in Johannesburg, Cecilia Albertyn was appointed as business development consultant to build on the relationship between the two jurisdictions in financial services. Albertyn spent the past seven years as vice president for international networks at the British Chamber of Business in South Africa.
Stuart Watson joined law firm OgierGlobal as a director to lead the growth of its UK corporate and fiduciary services offering, based in London.
SuMi TRUST named Shigeo Mito as product specialist and senior director in its London office. The firm also made Hirofumi Hayashi investment management head, taking Mito's previous role.
Partners Capital, the US outsourced chief investment office firm, promoted eight of its team to senior roles, including a partner and seven new managing directors. Having been at the business since 2013, Edmondo Barletta was made a partner. He joined the firm in London and relocated to Paris in 2019 to lead its continental European business.
At the managing director level, four senior principals based in Europe were promoted: Joe Basrawy, Matt Libling and Louisa Saunders in the London office, as well Niccolò Frigieri in Paris. In the US, Chris Bunzel, Pamela Haddad, and Steve Kaplan, all based in the Boston office, were promoted.
PineBridge Investments named Nicolas Kopitsis head of intermediary distribution for Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is based in Singapore and joined the firm in 2021 as Asia wealth management head. Before this, he worked at BNY Mellon.
Digital bank Chetwood Financial, based in Wrexham, Wales, named Julian Hynd as its new chief operating officer. Most recently, Hynd led the operational and digital transformation at Shawbrook Bank, and the commercial transformation at Redwood Bank.
UK-headquartered Alpha Financial Markets Consulting, a global consultancy in the financial services industry, appointed Scott Lee as an executive director in its UK wealth management and private banking team. Lee was most recently managing partner at Sionic (Davies Consulting) for the wealth management and private banking sector, where he led the development and growth of the business across the UK, Switzerland, Jersey and Luxembourg.
Jersey-based Crestbridge Family Office Services made four senior promotions in Jersey. In the client accounting team, Elliott Carlow was promoted to senior manager, and within the administration function, Gavin Byrne was promoted to manager and Charlie Lucas and Marta Latek were also recognised.
Zurich-based human resources technology and software-as-a-service business Board Owl named Simon Clifton as its new chief executive, taking the helm from co-founder and previous CEO, Daniel Aghdami, who became executive chairman. Clifton has a background of investing in high-growth technology companies. He co-founded bigblu broadband (BBB) in 2008 and served as chief technology officer.
Arbuthnot Latham appointed Carolyn Moore as head of executives and professionals, private banking. Moore joined from Coutts where she was director, broker team lead.
Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research appointed Louise Babin as a senior investment research analyst to boost its research and consulting team.
Wealth manager GSB appointed Hannah Gribbin, Theresa Todd and Rebecca Simpson. Gribbin, who was appointed as group CFO, has had an extensive career in finance, most recently at Clyde & Co in Dubai, and previously at KPMG for over 10 years. Todd joined as private client manager. Previously, she worked at Leagold Miller, supporting a large advisory team. Simpson, who joined as executive assistant to the board, was previously with McKinsey in London, where she worked with senior partners.
London-based wealth manager Saltus appointed Alistair Stuart as its new chief operating officer. Stuart’s career in financial services includes senior roles at the European Depository Bank, Investec, RBS, and Westpac. Most recently, he served as director operations transformation at Nationwide Building Society.
Mishcon de Reya appointed Marianne Kafena and Idina Glyn as partners in the Mishcon Private team in its London office. Kafena advises high net worth families, family offices and private businesses based in the Middle East. Previously she had been a partner at Harbottle & Lewis since 2020. Glyn – formerly a senior associate at Forsters – advises on transactional and advisory property matters alongside onshore tax, trust, succession, charity, super prime central London property matters and art law.
State Street Corporation appointed Terri Dempsey as country head of Ireland. Dempsey reports to executive vice president Cuan Coulter.
Harneys, the offshore law firm, said Cayman Islands managing partner Nick Hoffman was appointed as the new global head of the litigation, insolvency, and restructuring group. He took over from Phillip Kite, who served in the role for over 25 years, working alongside Peter Ferrer, who became co-head in 2021.
Jersey-headquartered Ocorian named Matt Bythell as chief marketing officer, based in London. Bythell, who has a 20-plus year career in senior marketing and communications roles, most recently, was marketing director at Link Group.
Aviva Investors appointed Vasileios Gkionakis as senior economist and strategist, reporting to Michael Grady, head of investment strategy and chief economist. Based in London, until July 2023 Gkionakis worked as the EMEA head of FX strategy at Citigroup and before that served as the global head of foreign exchange strategy at Lombard Odier Wealth Management in Geneva.

Harneys, the global offshore law firm, made a round of promotions to partner and counsel level in its Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Hong Kong, and Shanghai offices. Two new partners were appointed: Carolynn Vivian in the Cayman Islands and Jessie Xu in Shanghai.
Raymond James welcomed financial advisor Frank Durrum to its independent advisor channel. Operating as Durrum Wealth Management in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Durrum was joined by client service associates Debbie Patterson and Marisa Blakenship. A Texas native, Durrum began his career in financial services in 2010 and previously spent 13 years at Edward Jones. Before that, he graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served six years as an infantry platoon commander in the Marine Corps.
